Color Studio’s entire design staff attended the Chicago Americas Beauty Show in March 2009. This hair show is geared toward salon professionals and provided education and events, product orientation and purchasing, networking and socializing. While in attendance, the team was able to work with world-renowned stylist and designer Nick Arrojo, from TLC’s What Not to Wear. They also spent time with professionals from Wella Professionals, Vidal Sassoon and Sam Vila, Redken’s Platform Artist of the Year.

Three designers from Color Studio attended the Bumble and bumble University Design Workshop in New York in July 2009. Brandy Lewis, Aimee Avila and salon owner LaVonna McAlister attended this three-day workshop that focused on training that covered both razor and scissor techniques as well as consultation and business development skills.

LOCAL SALON MANAGER/DESIGNER ATTENDS WORLD-RENOWNED BUMBLE AND BUMBLE UNIVERSITY

Penny Strasser-Tuckel, manager and master designer at Color Studio, 2330 Yale Road, recently attended Bumble and bumble University Design Workshop in New York. Design Workshop is three days of theory and training that covers both razor and scissor techniques as well as consultation and business development skills. Strasser-Tuckel is Lawrence's only Bumble & bumble network educator. Strasser-Tuckel also enriches her talents by participating in the conference sponsored by the Redken Exchange in New York City, America's hub for swank style. She is a graduate. Vidal Sassoon graduates are regarded as experts within the color design industry because of the challenging nature of the course curriculum.

Emily Wright and Alicia Jamison recently sharpened their professional edge and took their haircoloring and hairstyline talent to the next level at the award-winning Redken Exchange in New York City. LOCAL SALON MANAGER, OWNERS ATTEND BULBLE AND BUMBLE UNIVERSITY

LaVonna McAlister and Lorinda Hartzler, owners; and Penny Strasser-Tuckel, manager, recently attended Bumble and bumble University in New York City.

During the workshop, McAlister, Hartzler and Strasser-Tuckel learned how to enhance their skills as leaders in the salon environment. They also gained insight on the strategies of effective employee management and were trained in the best and most successful up-to-date human capital practices.
